She freakin' won it!!

We aren't excited or anything. ;-)
This is such an incredible accomplishment, and for once I actually picked the winner! (A few years ago even!) Today was her day - when the weather was the worst that they have ever seen during the Boston Marathon. She's one tough runner. We were quite content to enjoy 'Marathon Monday' from the comfort of our living room this year! Our hats are off to all those who completed the course today...

Cheap Marathon

He almost missed his start, but was there ever a question that he would finish? He has more strength and determination than anyone I've ever known!

Millinockett Marathon & Half

Last year I photographed this great event that raises funds and spirits in this pretty little town. Watching everyone cross the finish line with happy faces despite the harsh conditions made me determined to heal my body and join them this year! It was hard work, but it was all worth it to be out there in that beautiful wilderness with so many great people. I was so glad to be out there today!
He might have been feeling a bit anxious walking up to the start of the marathon...it was COLD!!

We didn't run that far, but we borrowed the sign to pose for a photo because that runner on the left is a musher friend. I couldn't wait to show his wife the pic! We had a good laugh over it!

I think he was happy to be done! He didn't know it at the time, but he placed 3rd in his age group again. Awesome!

We were definitely feeling a sense of accomplishment when they gave us our Sea to Summit Medals for completing both the MDI and Millinockett courses this fall. Whew!

This one reminds me of the song we used to sing in Girl Scouts: 'Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other's gold.' It was so awesome to see a friend from my team penning days run her first half marathon and love every minute of it! And kudos to my running partner for doing it despite having a terrible chest cold. Now that's strength!

This is cani-cross!

This was a heavily contested race and they took off fast...

Shark and Nate charged to a third place finish!

Nova hooked herself up to our friends' 'King' Endo and won the women's race!

We had so much fun splashing through all the puddles. I love this sport!!

Festival of Champions

This morning he raced in the Unseeded Boys race and came in 5th place! What I liked best was watching all the boys high-fiving and congratulating each other for a great run. The encouragement and sportsmanship that we witness at cross-country meets is one of the reasons we love this sport!

Team Nooksack at the 2nd Annual Soldiers Pace 5k Canicross race

We took the 2 top places for the males, and the top place for the females! Great job team!!
(I ran with Yukon, and we somehow managed to cross the finish line in 30 minutes. Woohoo!!)
