Happy Birthday Aunt M

He gets very excited about blowing out the candles on the cake, and was quite concerned about whether or not she was going to do it right! He is such a character and so expressive. We all laughed so hard at his antics that we had tears streaming down our faces!

More than first meets the eye...

I've shared in past years that it is a family tradition for my brother, sister, and me to pose in front of the Christmas tree every year. This year we added our parents, and as if that wasn't good enough, (Because that certainly did make for an extra special photo this year!) we noticed after the photo was downloaded to the computer that their parents/our grandparents are looking over our shoulders. So, there are actually 3 generations in this group portrait.
How cool is that?!

Selfies or groupies?

My older son and I are involved in a debate: is it still called a 'selfie' if there's more than just myself in the picture? Regardless, we had some fun with them on Sunday. First, we taught Grammie how to be in a selfie/groupie...
Then, when Grampa joined us, we did it again!
He's feeling so much better these days; it's great!!

Almost the whole fam-dam-ily!

We always try to squeeze everyone in front of the Christmas tree for our annual family portraits.
This year the weather was so nice on Christmas day that we were able to pose outside on our favorite boulder in my parents' yard.
I can remember playing on it when I was a kid and it seemed to be huge.  It must have shrunk over the years!

Mom & Nell

Mom promised to find a picture of her with Nell, the horse who wore the bridle we found this fall.  She also wants everyone to know that Nell was a sweet old girl and would never have worn that vicious bit.  Her bit was a flat snaffle.
What a great old picture of my mother who was really cute and her big, beautiful mare!

I ran my first half-marathon today!

Wow.  I never could have imagined that I would actually do this.  I ran the Niagara Falls International Half-marathon!! It was so hard, but what an amazing feeling of accomplishment now that I have successfully completed the course. It is a beautiful course that follows the Niagara River on its 'twisty, turny' way to the falls. The best part was sharing the experience with these great friends!  We had so much fun during our weekend here and took so many photos that I'll be sharing them all week...

Homecoming Meet at Roberts Farm

The best part of home meets is that my parents get to see the boys run, and boy did they ever!  They love the difficult trails on their home course.  Big brother came in 5th overall, (1st for his team!)  and li'l brother worked hard and ran a personal best for cross-country.  I'm so glad that we were all there to see them shine!

Yarn-craft

My mother made this when she was a little girl.  I'm going to try to finish it off into a seat cushion this winter.
