Today he raced in the Sassi Memorial at Black Mountain.
An (almost) daily look at our lives in a small town in the Western Foothills of Maine.

Festival of Champions
This morning he raced in the Unseeded Boys race and came in 5th place! What I liked best was watching all the boys high-fiving and congratulating each other for a great run. The encouragement and sportsmanship that we witness at cross-country meets is one of the reasons we love this sport!

Personal Best
This afternoon he pushed hard (and still had fun!) and achieved a personal best time! I was so proud watching him dig in and run fast. He was so happy!!

Save a Stray 5k
This morning we all raced at LL Bean. They each won their divisions and Amber & I almost broke the 30 minute mark, despite 4 water stops! What a fun run!!

Harrison Run by the Lake 5k
This was my fourth time running this race, their fifth time doing it together, and the littlest one's first time running it! She wanted to quit, but she didn't and finished strong!!

Cross-Country Regionals
I'm a very proud cross-country mom! He left it all on the course - literally! Today's race was incredibly fast because they were all running to qualify for the state meet next weekend. 2 boys from our team qualified, and although my son didn't, I couldn't be more proud of the way that he ran today. He just wasn't fast enough against the field of runners that showed up to compete - they are incredible. Congrats to all of the qualifiers!

Soldier's Pace Canicross @ Smiling Hill Farm
Happy doggies!
I'm so glad that Johanna wanted to run with her - Amber loves to race!
Here they come and Timmy's still leading the way. What a good boy!
Headed for the finish line...
I've seen horses do this, but never a dog! He's thirsty!!
Waiting for Amber to return...
Johanna gives Amber an appreciative pat...they had fun together!
She's back!
Apparently Timmy prefers a 'birds-eye' view!

Lake Auburn Half Marathon, 5k and Kids Fun Run
Every race is fun to capture because there are so many stories. This race had more than most. Maybe it was the weather? It was fierce at times! There were times that I wondered if it was worth it to stand there under an umbrella as lightning lit up the sky, but then I pulled up all of these great images and many, many more! I wish that I could share them all. Since I can't do that...here are a few of my favorites...
