Metallak North Country Adventure Race
ran...
paddled...
ran again...
hopped back onto the bike to head off into the woods...
and once out of the woods...
paddled again...
then changed shoes again...
ran/hiked up the mountain...
and then...
finally biked to the finish line!
It was an amazing day spent watching these incredible athletes continuing to push through pain, fatigue, and more pain in order to accomplish such a feat of strength! I'm very proud of my man.

Om-a-can Can-oe Triathlon
Our first event this morning - watching him do his thing on the bike, running, and then paddling a kayak. Well, actually miss that first part because we're going to be running ourselves...

Waiting out the storm...
A rather fierce thunderstorm put a halt to our 17.5 mile ride(me)/run(him) this afternoon! Before we found shelter in this culvert under the highway, we were pushing through a virtual wall of water. It was crazy!

This afternoon we took a nice 11 mile ride along the rail trail and stopped to visit with Scott on our way by!

Dryland Biathlon
The biathlon season has begun! This morning we ran/biked our first biathlon at Roberts Farm. Younger brother won overall - he's a sharp shooter and a fast runner! It was awesome to watch him excel - he LOVES these races!! I had fun and got in a great workout, although I was extremely disappointed in my shooting - more practice is needed. Big brother took it easy and enjoyed his ride through the woods - he was determined not to dump on the slippery trails because he has a BIG race coming up!

It's a tradition!
Every time we camp at Natanis, we ride the 8 mile loop that leaves the campground on the logging road. This year we encountered a coyote on our trek! He was so confused and curious about us that we were very close before he decided to skedaddle. It was such a cool experience!

Just enough time for one more mini-adventure!
We biked around town and stopped just long enough to wander through the beautiful gardens, which are waking up to summer!
Now that I know the girls are interested, we'll definitely be stopping in to check them out more often.
