Too fast!
Call me a wimp, but I don't think I would have been as comfortable in that wagon if the horses were charging along at 25 mph! For once, I was quite happy to not be going the speed limit...

Ridin' High
Great big thanks to our friends who operate Meadow Creek Farm! We visited with them at the West Minot Maine Maple Sunday Celebration this morning. They invited the girls to ride up on the driver's seat of the wagon being pulled by their team of Belgian Horses. The girls were thrilled and loved every minute of it!

Another sick day...and another rock wall?!
Unfortunately, my little guy is still sick. However, he didn't really seem it this morning when I picked him up from school, so I told him that he would not be playing video games all day and would instead be catching up on school work. Somehow when the weather is this nice, I don't think he minds...and, since there are other gardens that need walls, guess what I was doing?
At this point I was beginning to think that I may have bit off more than I could chew! Although, Rusty was a huge help.
I did finish it though, despite the heat and tiredness. Now, I'm even more anxious for summer to arrive so that I can start filling these gardens with flowers!

I guess I really am my mother's daughter...
One of the boys is home sick today. While he naps, I'm out picking rocks from the field so that I can build a wall around one of my gardens. We always teased Mom about spending her free time building rock walls, and here I am doing the same thing!
The finished project was worth all the effort though. It's ready for planting! And, any birds that might be interested in moving in? The view is great!!

Smiley Cake
I loved the intense concentration on her face, as she drew smileys all over her cake. Which is actually a chocolate chip cookie bar. Our guests are sure going to be surprised when we cut into it!

She sells...
...seashells by the seashore! Try saying that 10 times, fast!!
The kids get so creative when you tell them that they can design their own birthday cake. Below her seascape is a marble cake - she thought it was pretty cool mixing the chocolate cake and white cake batters together in the pan. She had no idea how a marble cake was made, when she requested that flavor. Now she knows!

Rev It!
The Ventura is finally out of the garage! This evening, the girls were shocked when their dad asked them to actually sit in the driver's seat and push the pedal to warm up the engine. That led to a great time pretending to drive, and (of course) modeling my sunglasses!

The Reader
He has finally discovered a love for reading! I knew he would eventually; it runs in my blood. Tonight he was an only child because his siblings were all with their other parents. I asked him what one-on-one project he wanted to do with me. His answer was that he wanted to snuggle on the couch with me and read. I was very happy to oblige!

Farm Girlz
Remember last year's chix? They have turned into great, big, beautiful, hard-working layers! The girls have done a good job handling them, so they are also friendly and they seem to enjoy being handled. Although not for too long!

Sunday Drive
We got the Ol' Green Booger out of the garage today and took her for a drive. It's funny how that old car makes us want to go cruisin'...nowhere to go & no hurry to get there...

'68 Chevy
'Cause we need another vehicle like we need a hole in the head!
But, it's fun to drive. I can now say that I have driven a standard with the shifter on the column! This afternoon was my first time trying, and it was a bit of a challenge, but I did it!! Whoohoo!!

Culvert
See that big rock slab in the water? Yeah, that's supposed to be up there on the side of the road, supporting vehicles as they drive over Moody Brook. Hopefully someone from the DOT will notice that before someone gets too close to the edge and crushes the culvert. They might get wet!
My Addiction
I've decided that this season will no longer be called 'late winter' or 'early spring'. It is now called 'Cadbury Cream Egg Season'. I'm glad it's almost over though 'cause I just can't stop eating them!

Crazy Pizza
We went a little crazy making pizza tonight...
The girls decided to get really creative! And, I must say, that's the best crust that I have ever made. I added basil, garlic, oregano, olive oil, mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Yummy!!

March came in like a lion...
I couldn't believe it when I saw her walking across the yard with a shovel. She said, "My goats need me."
