It's truly incredible how much we have all grown in this place. We're going to miss it so much, but we're heading off on new adventures which is very exciting!
An (almost) daily look at our lives in a small town in the Western Foothills of Maine.

Good morning!
I had to make sure we spent some time together in her favorite spot this morning. The weather is perfect today and it might be our last chance since it's supposed to rain the rest of the week. This is the only home she's ever known, so I'm glad that she doesn't know (although she must suspect) that we won't be living here much longer. It's a bittersweet change!

'Thar she goes!'
My nephew wanted the tires on my plow truck for his Jeep. Since I won't need a plow truck where I'm going, I told him to take the whole darn thing!

Moving Made Easier
This morning we returned the truck. I have to say that I would highly recommend using this service if you are moving. For less than $150(including gas!) we were able to move in just 1 trip what would have taken countless trips with our own vehicles. Hours and hours of time saved; not to mention wear & tear!

Eek!
I don't have nails so I was far less confident on this trail than Amber wanted me to be! The air was crisp & cool and she thought we should run like the wind...

She freakin' won it!!
We aren't excited or anything. ;-)
This is such an incredible accomplishment, and for once I actually picked the winner! (A few years ago even!) Today was her day - when the weather was the worst that they have ever seen during the Boston Marathon. She's one tough runner. We were quite content to enjoy 'Marathon Monday' from the comfort of our living room this year! Our hats are off to all those who completed the course today...

Cheap Marathon
He almost missed his start, but was there ever a question that he would finish? He has more strength and determination than anyone I've ever known!

Draining the Driveway
I posted about this process back in 2008 when the boys were little - Mud Season was the name of that post. Fortunately he (and I) still hasn't outgrown the love of playing in the mud puddles!

That'll have to do!
The flooding had washed away the driveway over the culvert, but we covered it up again. It's not pretty, but should do the trick.

Happy Hazel
Hazel was beyond excited for the opportunity to run with the team today! She even tried to clamber into a box on the trailer by herself. :-D She isn't fit enough for the whole 3 miles to be easy, but she never gave up!! I am very proud of her.

The end of a successful season!
This evening's award ceremony was the bittersweet end of Nordic Season. It's hard to believe it's over all ready. He earned a KVAC Academic Award, and the Coach's Award. I'm so proud of him for all of his efforts!

Maple BBQ Burger
Perhaps the best ever? Homemade sourdough bun with caramelized onions, bacon and maple bbq sauce on a huge perfectly cooked burger. Yummo! (and plenty for 2 to share) We discovered these during a 'pit stop' at Hoagie's in Newport, Vermont. It was so good that we stopped there again last night on our way South...

As Predicted
We're sure glad that big brother is home from college on 'Spring' Break. I have a feeling he'll be booking a trip to the tropics next year though!

Biathlon
They raced in a biathlon at Roberts Farm today, and had a great time competing again. They worked hard, and each won their age group! But guess who was 6 seconds faster? 😉

Youthful Exuberance
I was walking back to the atv after visiting the team while they were taking a break. Apparently Abby was really anxious to get going again!!
