A walk with a friend...
This afternoon we spent some time wandering around Shepherd's Farm Preserve. They recently installed wooden statues by Bernard Langlais, which I hadn't seen yet. They are really neat! I'm going to have to follow the art trail and discover all the cool places where they have been installed.

Emily's Run 5k
This morning we ran in the 2nd race of the Greater L-A Triple Crown 5k Series - Emily's Run. This is a hilly course through Auburn, starting and finishing at Edward Little High School.
These races are always well-attended and that massive colorful crowd makes for some amazing start line photos! My son shot this race for me, and he did such a great job that they have asked him to do the next race, and used this photo for their cover photo on Facebook. Super proud mom moment!
There was a big group of elites who led the pack during this race, but unfortunately the winner was confused about which direction to circle the track and enter the finish line area! Oops!! He still finished first though, and they didn't disqualify him for his mistake. These guys are such incredible runners!

Live, Laugh, Run: Becca 4-Ever in our Hearts
This evening we ran a race that was organized to raise funds for field hockey scholarships in the name of a young girl from our community who passed away much too soon. My son and his buddies from the cross-country team ran their hearts out in blistering heat & humidity and did a great job representing their team! First place overall, and first and second place for their age group - way to go guys!! I love to watch them run, and it's nice to see how much they can impress and inspire others around them with their athleticism & work ethic.

Paris Hill Founders Day
This is going to be another long blog post!
We were lucky enough to see not only Bob Bahre's incredible vehicle collection today, but also the vehicles of lots of other enthusiasts that they drove up to share them with the crowd at this year's Founders Day. It was a beautiful Maine summer day, so loads of people came out to enjoy the show! I had to start with my very favorite part of the collection - the carriage from Gone with the Wind...
We'll call this one, 'Patience'...
What a fun way to spend the day with my boys and our friends!

July Nomad Race
He was happy to get back out there on the trails, although last night was WICKED HOT & HUMID. By the time they got back, they all looked like they had been swimming. Phew! Anyway, it was a fun event, as usual, on the beautiful trails at Roberts Farm Preserve in Norway.
You know what made him even happier? He won a big slice of apple cake from Happi Chicks as the prize for 3rd place in the Males under 18 category!
