Dryland Biathlon @ Roberts Farm Preserve
This morning the girls and I ran in our first dryland biathlon. I figured I should learn how to do the sport before I added the confusion of skiing. And we all placed! The girls were 1st and 2nd girls, and I was 2nd adult female. The trails were tough, which made the shooting such a challenge because of breathing hard from running up those hills. We had a great time. It was such a fun way to spend the morning with family and friends!

Home Sweet Home
One of my step-daughters made this huge, colorful diagram of our home. She and her dad worked together to make a frame for it so that she can hang it on her wall. It dominates the room and is the first thing that you see when you walk through the door. Walking through that door and seeing this makes me smile every time.

Constant Contact
Amber is such an affectionate dog that she has to be touching one of us at all times. She doesn't care if we're ignoring her, just so long as there is some connection, then she is content.

I thought this was junk mail...
And almost threw it away! Good thing I didn't. It's the engraved tab to attach to the back of my half-marathon medal. Yay! It's finally here! And it looks so cool...

Fighting for position...
Amber had to share her favorite spot. After running that 10k she was cold and tired enough to push the dog out of the way and claim the best napping spot in the house!

Turkey Trot 5k & 10k to benefit the Second Chances Foundation
This is the best bunch of kiddos. Despite the bitterly cold wind they showed up and ran excellent races of either 3.1 miles (5k) or 6.2 miles (10k)! Standing behind me is the defending champion - he won last year (his first race win ever!), and came in first again this morning with a time of 17:20! Our friend/teammate in the blue shirt was right behind him in second place. My older son won the 10k race in a smokin' 38:34 with our friend/teammate in the black hat right behind him in 2nd. Our youngest daughter, in the greenish jacket ran her longest race ever. Yes, she completed the 10k course, and was the 2nd female to cross the finish line after racing that distance! Our younger son raced very well and placed in the top 10 again, with the 2 girls in pink laughing along behind. Racing together is new to them and they just LOVE it! I did not walk, but ran the entire 10k course, which was an accomplishment for me.
What a great morning of fitness and fun with family and friends!

Sketch
While we were visiting my parents this afternoon, our budding architect grabbed a piece of paper and started sketching...
