Oxford Hills Middle School Nordic Team

Tonight was the end of season dinner. Unfortunately, we had to say good bye to their fabulous coach.  We'll look forward to her visits next year, and skiing with her in upcoming biathlons!

Leavitt Duathlon

The Oxford Hills Team had such a fun time putting these costumes together for the competition and they looked great!  A duathlon is when the skiers switch between classic and skate skis halfway through the course.  It was my son's first time and he said he really enjoyed it.  They even made the paper!

I pulled it out to stitch for a while and my son said, "Mom, you've been working on that my whole life!"  Yeah...pretty much.

She pushed it more than she did last time and was rewarded for her efforts. 

The twins had to work extra hard because their wax-less skis didn't handle the snow conditions.

Oh well.  It didn't slow them down much... 

 He displayed an amazing confidence that we don't normally see...this is HIS event.

They all placed in their divisions!  Great job team!!

Middle School Classical Nordic State Championship

The girls raced first and she did a great job representing her school by coming in 14th place. 

He worked very hard, despite the fact that this style of skiing is his least favorite.  

We are proud of both of them for showing so much improvement throughout this season!

Yay! A snow day!!

They didn't have to go to school, and I didn't have to go to work, so we got to relax and play together.  It's been a long time. We needed that.

Birthday Pie

My friend made me the best lemon meringue pie that I have ever tasted...hands down.

Happy 15th Birthday!

He changed so much during his 14th year!  I'm excited to see how he grows during this coming year...

Mid Winter 10 Mile Classic Road Race

She wasn't sure how she was going to do since she has been skiing and not running...well, she did awesome!  She came in 2nd in the under 19 female division; 422 out of 749 runners; 163 out of 399 females.  She made some amazing new friends, and found the experience of running with some of the hardiest individuals (Who else runs 10 miles in the winter?!) in this sport to be extremely inspiring.

Ski Girlz

What a beautiful day (and location - Sunny Croft Farm on Paris Hill) for a ski meet. The girls have started to bring their skis to every meet that their older siblings are racing in, and it's so much fun watching them ski around with the older kids.  They love it!
