Rock Concert
Tonight I got to see one of my favorite bands, Chevelle, play at the State Theatre in Portland. The opening band, Janus, was pretty good and the second band, Middle Class Rut, a two-man band, was amazing! What an awesome show!!

Mom, Dad & Duke
I love this picture of my parents with their dog, Duke! Mom grew up in that farmhouse behind them. It is such a beautiful place!

I swear it's true!
They really do like each other...
Before the birthday party, we took some time to explore the fields and woods around the old Farm . It was great to be able to share with the kids, the places where we used to play when we were young.

Two Thumbs Up
It's official - we're shopping for a motorhome...
Now that we're planning a trip to Tennessee with all of the kiddos, we're gonna need a vehicle with a whole lot more space!

Sharing the Warmth
Unfortunately, it was cold beyond imagining at the sleigh rally. The temperature was hovering between 10 & 15 degrees Farenheit and the wind was blowing a gale. Very unpleasant weather for man or beast!
Partway through the day though, we discovered two Shire mares that were standing beside their trailer, protected from the wind. Their huge black bodies were soaking up the winter sunshine, and they were radiating heat. They seemed more than happy to share, so we placed our chilly checks and frozen fingertips on their bodies. We were also hoping to feel the foal moving inside this mare's belly, but we didn't.

Happy Valentine's Day
He found this heart-shaped mushroom and wrote a very sweet message to me for Valentine's Day. I hope he'll always be my 'snuggle-bug'!

Sleigh Rally
We nearly froze to death, but we still enjoyed ourselves at this great event today! It's really too bad that it was so cold, because there weren't very many attendees, even though plenty of teamsters showed up with their horses. There were a couple of sleighs, but mostly the rides were being given by wagons since there was also a lack of snow. The sun was shining, and I was armed with my camera, so I will be posting many more pictures throughout this week!

Skating Party
This afternoon they asked me to take them skating at the rink on Cottage Street in Norway...I was happy to, because I had no idea how cold I would get watching them!

Shopping Teamwork
This morning we needed to get a lot of shopping done in a short amount of time. So, I wrote 3 lists, paired up the kiddos, and set them loose on the grocery store. They had a blast picking out what they wanted to buy and did it all in just over 15 minutes! I was thrilled and they were so proud of themselves!
