We decided to get a little bit crazy and tackle this course this evening! Ayiyi!!

Don't we look a little bit crazy? We were pretty wired after finishing that tough 5.5 mile course in the dark - yikes!

So yeah, this early morning run came really fast considering l didn't fall into bed until 2 am! The cats made sure that l didn't sleep in though - "You didn't get enough sleep, Mom? Oh well. Sucks to be you! We can see the bottom of our dish, and Amber needs to go out. Up and at 'em!" Brats.  Y Ya gotta love 'em!!

Darius Rucker in Concert

Yesterday my friend asked me to go to this show with her this evening. Sometimes a 'spur of the moment' decision can be a good one! I was just a passing fan of this man, but now I am a dedicated fan. He puts on a really, really good show! He's one of those super talented musicians that can plan any genre of music, (which he did throughout his set) As you all know, I'm a lover of all types of music, so that was right up my alley and I enjoyed it very much!!

Today my sons had a cross country race at Maranacook Community High School, and it's not as if I didn't know that they are two different individuals, but it was very apparent when I looked through my photos from the race.

My older son takes racing very seriously. He has fun while running, but when it's time to race for his team, he is all business. Younger brother is the complete opposite!  

Cross country is such a great sport because there is room enough for both attitudes on the same team!!

I wanted to find a picture of the first day of Kindergarten for our Senior Boy. I found it, but boy isn't that a bittersweet photo - Otto passed away on Monday. RIP ol' man. You were a great dog for us, and ended up being the best companion my aunt could have ever asked for!

3 years of running the Triple Crown 5k races!

Maine Blue Dog

Last year our community reeled from the horror of a puppy who was found with his mouth duct-taped shut! Fortunately, donations poured into a local veterinary hospital and the life of this sweet dog was saved. He is now a happy, healthy dog, who seemed to think that my older son was his long-lost soul mate! Blue was walking by with his owner, and the next thing we knew, he was up in my son's lap. Every time he was coaxed down, he would sneak back around and climb back up again! It was so funny, and sweet. I'm really glad that we had the opportunity to meet this wonderful dog. My son is now a pit-bull type dog fan and is going to do his best to help the plight of these loving dogs that are so gravely misunderstood.

LA Bridge Run 5k

He had a 'feel good' race today! He didn't place particularly well because he wasn't racing fast now that cross country season has started, but he had a good workout, and enjoyed it. He also had plenty of energy left at the end to come back and find me about a mile back on the course and run with me towards the final bridge crossing. That was nice. Oh, to be young again!

Every year they award those of us who ran all 3 races throughout the summer. (My son didn't, which was another reason not to push this race since he wasn't eligible for a prize like last year!.) This year we got these really cool medals!
